CAPT Shawn Roberts, a native of Orange, Texas and a 1993 graduate of Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Upon graduation he studied abroad at Tel Aviv University in Israel. CAPT Roberts s also holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University and a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.

CAPT Roberts' first tour was in USS NASHVILLE (LPD-13) as the Combat Information Center Officer where he also qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer. His follow-on tours were as the CMS/ISSM officer in USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN-69) and as the COMPHIBGRU TWO Current Operations Officer. While at COMPHIBGRU TWO, he was redesignated as a Navy Cryptologist and assigned to Fleet Information Warfare Center (FIWC) as the Network Officer. While at FIWC he was invited to joinand redesignated to the newly created Information Professional community.

Roberts' operational tours as an Information Professional include USS BATAAN (LHD 5) as the Assistant C5I Officer, Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq as the Director of the Iraqi Security Forces Division, and Carrier Strike Group Eight (CSG-8) embarked on USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN-69) as the Deputy Director for Communications and Information Systems (N6A). His shore assignments include Staff Officer at Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic (SACLANT), Executive Officer at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Jacksonville, Navy Space Readiness Officer and Information Professional/Information Systems Technician Manpower Manager at U.S. Navy Cyber Forces, Deputy Operations Officer (J3) and a National Mission Team lead at Cyber National Mission Force, and Deputy N6 at U.S. Navy Fleet Forces Command. His previous assignment was as the Commanding Officer, Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC).

CAPT Roberts' decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 gold stars), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps CommendationMedal(3 gold stars), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 gold stars), and various campaign and service awards.

He is married with three children.
