Brigadier General Hamilton is the Vice Commander of the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC), Norfolk, Virginia.  She is the principal advisor to the JECC Commander and senior staff on all matters concerning Reserve Component (RC) issues.  She provides oversight and responsibility for all planning, coordinating, integrating, and synchronizing required to ensure the JECCs supporting Service RC commands are effectively postured to support the JECC’s requirements. She serves as the RC focal point for the JECC in dealing with USTRANSCOM, the services, Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, coalition, and other defense agencies. Responsible for the readiness and joint expertise of RC personnel to ensure they maintain training qualifications needed for worldwide deployment.  In the absence of the JECC Commander, she is responsible for the JECC’s daily operations. 

Brig. Gen. Hamilton received her commission from the Army ROTC program at Norwich University Military College of Vermont in 1996. She holds a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, an M.S. Degree in Information Technology Management from Webster University, and an M.S. Degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  Her military education also includes the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Combined Arms Services Staff School, and the Signal Captains Basic and Advanced courses. 

Her active-duty assignments include the 11th Signal Brigade at Fort Huachuca, AZ, where she served as a HHC Executive Officer, Transmission Platoon Leader, Assistant Battalion S-3, and Brigade S-3 Training Officer. BG Hamilton’s follow-on assignments include HHC, Commander, 1st Satellite Control Battalion, Schriever AFB, Colorado, U.S. Army Pacific Command (USARPAC) G6 plans and exercise officer and the USARPAC G6 transformation officer. Brig. Gen. Hamilton deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines as the J6, director of communications, Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines.

In 2007, Brig. Gen. Hamilton transitioned into the U.S. Army Reserve and continued to serve in her signal career field as a G3 Plans and Exercise Officer with the 311th Theater Signal Command, Fort Meade, Maryland. In 2009, Hamilton transitioned away from the signal arena and served as the 2-398th Cavalry Squadron S3 operations officer in Madisonville, Kentucky. She taught intermediate level education for the Army Reserve at the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina and commanded the 2-337th Tactical Support Battalion, 157th Infantry Brigade, Waterford, Michigan.  After Battalion Command, Hamilton served as a Joint Planner and Chief of Land Operations in the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command, U.S. Transportation Command where she mobilized as part of the Joint Alert Force to support U.S. Army Northern Command’s Southwest Border Mission in San Antonio, TX.  In her last assignment, BG Hamilton commanded the 207th Digital Liaison Detachment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Her awards include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Army Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (four awards), and the Army Achievement Medal (five awards).
