Submitting a Visit Request

The JECC is a Secured Building which requires all visitors to provide their security clearance information for verification prior to entry. Official Visitors must have their local/command's Security Management Office (either SSO/SSR or Security Manager), provide their security clearance information via a JPAS Visitor Access Request (VAR) to the JECC via the JECC SMO Code (see info below).

  • Top Secret/SCI: SSO JECC
On-Site Instructions

When you arrive at the JECC facility, please proceed to the Visitor Control Desk to sign in and obtain your visitor's badge.

Please note that the use of cell phones, smart watches, personal fitness devices, and other wireless electronics are prohibited in JECC facilities. The following items may not be brought into JECC facilities:

  • Wireless email devices
  • Personal and government cell phones
  • Recording devices
  • Personal laptops
  • Personal and government PDAs
  • Two-way pagers

There are mobile device lockers in the waiting area by the Security Desk where visitors can secure their cell phones while conducting business inside X-132, if needed. Personal, non-JECC laptops should be left at home, at lodging, or in your vehicle.

  • From I-64, take I-564 W towards Naval Station Norfolk, and continue onto Admiral Taussig Boulevard.
  • Turn Right to access the base via Gate 2.
    • Gate 2 is closed to inbound traffic from Hampton Blvd. Monday -- Friday before 0800. You can use Gate 5 as an alternate route if you arrive before 0800.
  • Follow Maryland Ave. and make a left onto Dillingham Boulevard.
  • The JECC headquarters in Building X-132 is located at the corner of Dillingham Boulevard and Virginia Avenue.

Parking is available in the lot directly across from the building to the south.

All visitors to Naval Station Norfolk must have their access validated before being allowed to enter the installation. Current Common Access Card (CAC) holders should provide their card at the security gate to gain entry.

Any vendors, contractors, suppliers, service providers, and other visitors not otherwise entitled to the issuance of a CAC should register for access via the Pass & ID Office. The office can be contacted at:

Hampton Roads Transit offers public bus transportation to the Hammond & Admiral Taussig station. There are two bus routes available for local riders. Buses for both routes depart once every 30 minutes.

  • Route 3 starts in downtown Norfolk, going north on Chesapeake Blvd. and back down I-64.
  • Route 21 travels between the Naval Station and Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story.
